treasurer Duties
  • Collects real and personal property taxes
  • Keeps and account of township receipts and expenditures
  • Issues township checks
  • Deposits township revenues in approved depositories
  • Invests township funds in approved investment vehicles
  • Collects delinquent personal property tax
  • Responsible for jeopardy assessments in collecting property tax
  • Collects mobile home specific tax
  • Must appoint a deputy
  • Must post a surety bond

Tuesday – Thursday 9am-2pm

LAST DAY TO pay 2021 taxes in pierson is Feb 28

Payments March 1st and after payable to Montcalm County.

tax payment options:  
  • It has past the deadline to pay online. Please see below options:
  • In person at the Township office
  • Dropped in the Drop-box at the front of the Township building
  • 2021 Winter Taxes will only be received at Pierson Township office until MONDAY, FEB 28 and Treasurer's office is open 9 -5 pm​​
  • Independent Bank Sand Lake or Howard City will ALSO accept Pierson Township property tax payments:

1. You must bring a copy of the entire tax bill.

2. It must be a current bill (no delinquent bills).

3. It must be the entire payment. The bank CANNOT accept partial payments.

4. Checks/Money Orders to be made payable to:  Pierson Township

5. Credit cards accepted - they will be treated as cash advance.

Saturday 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
