tax payment options:  
  • In person at the Township office
  • Drop-box at the front of the Township building
  • Mail (Please allow at least two weeks prior to the due date due to postal delays) Postmark and check dates are not excepted.
  • Credit Card payments (3% processing fee) [No American Express]
  • e-check payments ($3 processing fee)
  • Independent Bank (Sand Lake & Howard City) will also accept tax payments. Please bring the entire tax bill, and make checks payable to Pierson Township.​​

treasurer Duties
  • Collects real and personal property taxes
  • Collects delinquent personal property taxes
  • Collects mobile home specific taxes

  • Keeps an account of Township receipts and expenditures
  • Process Township checks
  • Deposits Township revenues in approved depositories
  • Invests Township funds in approved investment vehicles
  • Responsible for jeopardy assessments in collecting property tax
  • Must appoint a deputy
  • Must post a surety bond
